Managing ad accounts
Edit an ad account's name, control its sync (start, stop, retry, reconnect), and delete it when you're done.
After an ad account is up and running, you'll mostly leave it alone. The exceptions: rename it, pause/resume its sync, retry after an error, reconnect after a token expires, or delete it.

Editing
Click Edit on an ad account. The same form opens — but in edit mode only Name is editable. Platform, connected account, and advertising account are read-only.
This is intentional: an ad account's identity is which advertising account on which platform under which login. Changing any of those would mean a new ad account, not an edit. To re-target, create a new ad account and delete the old one.
Sync controls
Each ad account has a contextual action that depends on its current status:
| Status | Available action |
|---|---|
| Not started, Stopped | Start sync — begin the initial load (or resume scheduled syncs). |
| Syncing…, Synced, Loading history… | Stop — pause future scheduled syncs. The data already pulled stays. |
| Initial load failed, Last sync failed, History load paused | Retry — try the failed step again. |
| Reconnect required | Reconnect — re-authorize the connected account behind this ad account; syncing resumes once it's healthy. |
Stop is non-destructive: nothing already pulled is removed. Start sync resumes from the current state. Retry re-runs the most recent failed step.
Deleting
The menu has a Delete option — available only if you have full access to the ad account. The Delete ad account confirmation spells out what happens:
- erase all metrics collected for it,
- remove this data from your reports,
- stop syncing this ad account.
This cannot be undone.
Reports that referenced the deleted ad account still exist, but its data is gone from them. If a report has no remaining ad accounts after a deletion, it opens with empty tables; edit the report to attach different ad accounts. If you need the data back, recreate the ad account and Level re-pulls — but how far back depends on what the platform still exposes.
Live updates
The ad accounts page shows status changes as they happen — no need to reload. The status flips through Initial load scheduled → Initial load in progress → Loading history… → Synced in real time, with month-by-month progress on the history load.
If you lose network or close the laptop for a while, reload the page to resume live updates.
Permissions
What you can do with each ad account depends on the access level your role grants for it:
| Level | What it allows |
|---|---|
| No access | The ad account is hidden from you. |
| Can view | See the ad account and its status — no actions. |
| Can control | View, plus Start sync / Stop / Retry / Reconnect. |
Access levels are granted per ad account from the role, on the role's Ad accounts access tab. Deleting additionally requires full access to the ad account. See Users & Teams.
