Ad accounts
An ad account wires one advertising account on one platform into one organization. It's how Level knows which numbers to pull for a given report.
An ad account in Level is the link between "this advertising account on Google Ads / Meta" and "this Level organization" — wired through a connected account. No ad accounts = no data; once you've added one, Level starts pulling its campaign performance and keeps it fresh.
You manage ad accounts per organization at the Ad accounts page.
What an ad account holds
- A name you choose (e.g. Acme · Google Search, Acme · Meta Reels).
- A platform — Google Ads or Meta.
- A link to a connected account — which sign-in Level uses to read it.
- The actual advertising account under that sign-in.
- A currency — inherited from the advertising account; you don't pick it.
- Sync status for each of its pipelines (see below).
What you'll see

For each ad account you see:
- Name.
- Account — the advertising account name and its identifier.
- Currency — a small badge.
- Status — the current sync state per pipeline (see below).
- Actions — Edit, Start sync / Stop / Retry / Reconnect (depending on current state), and Delete.
Above the list: Search (matches name, account name, or identifier) and Add to create a new ad account.
Two sync pipelines
Each ad account card shows two pipelines, each with its own status:
- Data sync — campaign performance. This is the core pipeline every plan gets.
- Creatives — individual ads, videos, and their assets, feeding the Creatives and Videos report types. Creative sync is a Business feature — below Business the pipeline shows Upgrade required.
Status
The status on each pipeline tells you exactly where the ad account is:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not started | The ad account exists but no sync has run yet. |
| Initial load scheduled | The first load (recent data) is queued. |
| Initial load in progress | The first load is pulling recent data — usually a few minutes. |
| Initial load failed | The first load hit an error; click Retry to try again. |
| Loading history… | Historical backfill is running; the card shows progress as /{m} months loaded. |
| History load paused | The historical backfill hit an error; recent data keeps syncing. |
| Syncing… | A scheduled refresh is in progress. |
| Synced Xh ago | Healthy and up to date; the detail shows when the next sync is due. |
| Last sync failed | The most recent refresh failed; Level keeps retrying on schedule. |
| Stopped | You (or an admin) paused syncs for this ad account; click Start sync to resume. |
| Sync paused | Paused by your subscription plan — the organization owner's account is over its plan limits. Syncing resumes automatically once the account fits its plan again. |
| Reconnect required | The connected account behind this ad account needs to be re-authorized — see Connected accounts. |
Status and progress update live — no need to reload.
For the deeper view of what each status implies and how often Level pulls data, see Data sync.
Creating, editing, deleting
- Creating an ad account — pick the connected account, pick the advertising account, name it.
- Managing ad accounts — edit the name, control syncing, delete an ad account.
Permissions
Access to each ad account is granted from your role at one of three levels: No access, Can view, or Can control (view plus start/stop). Creating new ad accounts requires the Create Ad Accounts permission. See Users & Teams for how roles grant access.
