Planning the year

The year grid — ad accounts down, twelve months across — with the row shortcuts, keyboard moves and save behaviour that make filling it bearable.

Targets › Plan is where the numbers are typed. Ad accounts run down the page, the twelve months of the year run across, and every cell is an input. The current month's column is highlighted, and totals sit at the end of every row and the foot of every column.

The year is chosen with the period pill next to the heading, and lives in the address. The metric rail on the left is the same one as on Pacing: the grid plans one metric at a time, and switching metrics with unsaved work asks first.

The year plan: ad accounts down, months across, totals on both edges.

Filling it in

Typing into a cell marks it unsaved; nothing is written until you save. The toolbar shows N unsaved changes with Save and Discard next to it. On a phone the same three follow you as a floating pill, so the save button is never a scroll away.

Every row carries three buttons, and each fills empty cells only — they never overwrite a number you typed:

ButtonEffect
Fill yearJanuary's amount into every later empty month.
Copy →The month you're in (or the last one filled) forward into the empty months after it.
ClearEmpties the row.

A button that has nothing to do is disabled and says why on hover: "January is empty — nothing to fill the year from", "Every month already has an amount", "The row is already empty".

Keyboard

Key
EnterMove down to the next ad account, same month. Shift+Enter goes back up.
EscapeRevert the cell you're in.
Ctrl / Cmd + SSave everything.

On a phone the grid becomes one folded card per ad account — the header carries the year total, unfolding gives twelve month → input rows — and Enter walks the months of the account on screen instead.

Saving

Save writes only the cells you touched, in one batch, and says Targets saved. Discard drops them all. Drafts do not survive the page: switching year, switching metric or navigating away asks first, and answering no keeps you where you are.

A single save carries up to 600 cells; past that the grid asks you to save in smaller batches. Amounts go up to 999,999,999 (a ratio target up to 1,000,000, two decimals) — and clearing a cell removes that month's target altogether.

What the numbers mean depends on the metric

The grid plans whatever the rail is on. For Cost, Revenue or any money metric the ad-account column shows the account's currency next to its name — targets are never converted, so a grid mixing currencies totals each one on its own line. For a count like Leads or Purchases the cells are whole numbers. For a ratio like ROAS or CPA the cell is the level to hold for that month, and the totals read : adding twelve ratios together would mean nothing.

Calendar months only

Targets are calendar months. There is no custom period and no partial-month target — the pacing model divides a month evenly by its days, and a period starting on the 14th would make every figure on the pacing screen ambiguous.

Campaign targets aren't here

The year grid plans ad accounts. A campaign target is a slice of one account's month and is created from the pacing screen — its row menu's Add campaign budget….
