Customizing a report
Reorder and hide metric columns or segment rows — your view, doesn't affect others.
Two parts of a report can be tailored just for you: the metric columns (which ones show and their order) and — on Segments reports — the segment rows. These are personal preferences. Two people opening the same report can see different layouts.

Customize metrics
In the report's filters bar, click Customize Metrics. A small panel opens listing every metric in the report.
For each metric you can:
- Drag the handle on the left to change the order. The order in the panel = the order of columns in the table and KPI cards.
- Hide by unchecking. Hidden metrics don't appear in the table or KPI cards.
Two buttons at the bottom:
- Save — apply your changes.
- Reset to Default — go back to the report's own order with everything visible.
Customize segments
Segments-type reports only. Same panel, same controls — drag to reorder rows, uncheck to hide. Hidden segments don't contribute to the KPI totals at the top either, not just to the rows.
Whose view is whose
Customizations are personal — Level remembers them next time you open this report, and they only affect your view.
| Action | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Edit the report itself (drawer) — name, placements, metrics, segments | Everyone, immediately |
| Customize metrics or segments here | Only you |
| Reset to Default | Only you |
So if a teammate asks "why does ROAS show up first for me but last for you?" — your personal customization is the answer.
Common reasons to customize
- Stakeholder vs operator views — the same report can serve a CMO and a media buyer, each with their own layout.
- Hide what's irrelevant. A client doesn't track CTR? Hide it for yourself; other clients keep it visible.
- Foreground what matters this quarter. Drag Brand to the top during a brand campaign push.
Placements reports — group editing is shared
A Placements report has one extra thing you can edit, but it's shared across all viewers, not personal: the placement groups themselves — their names and which placements belong in each. Edit them from the report's Edit drawer; the order you set there is the row order everyone sees.
There's no personal reorder for Placements reports — the group structure is the same for everyone.
Permissions
Anyone who can open a report can customize it for themselves. There's no permission gate on personal layout.
